The iPhone 15 Series has been confirmed to launch on September 12, 2023, during an event titled “Wonderlust.” Alongside this, Apple is also reported to be releasing new AirPods with a charging case that utilizes a USB-C port.
As known, the upcoming iPhone 15 Series, set to be launched next month, will be the first Apple phone to feature a USB-C port, replacing the Lightning port. This change is expected to also apply to their TWS (True Wireless Stereo) devices, namely the AirPods.
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the new AirPods with a USB-C port are rumored to be introduced alongside the iPhone 15 Series. Unfortunately, there is no detailed information regarding whether these are the standard AirPods or the AirPods Pro.
It is also not clarified whether these new AirPods will only bring a USB-C port change to their charging case or if they will feature new functionalities. For reference, the third-generation AirPods were released in October 2021, while the second-generation AirPods Pro were released in September 2022.
The presence of AirPods with a USB-C port has been hinted at for several months now, including for both the standard AirPods and AirPods Pro. We’ll have to wait for around two more weeks to find out.”
