Elon Musk Contemplates Twitter (X) Going Paid: A Shift in the Horizon?

Since its acquisition by Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, the Twitter platform, now rebranded as X, has witnessed a series of significant developments that have left users and observers intrigued.

Recent reports have surfaced, suggesting that Elon Musk is actively considering the prospect of turning the Twitter (X) platform into a paid service, featuring a budget-friendly subscription tier that could be introduced in the coming months.

Citing a conversation between Musk and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, TechCrunch reports that Musk expressed his company’s interest in implementing “a nominal monthly fee” for users of the X platform. This strategic move is intended to combat the growing issue of bots and automated accounts on the platform.

Elon Musk, however, has refrained from disclosing the specific pricing details for this low-cost subscription or providing a clear timeline for its potential implementation.

It’s noteworthy that Twitter (X) currently offers a Premium service that grants users access to an array of enhanced features in exchange for a subscription fee of $8 per month or an annual fee of $84. What are your thoughts on the possibility of Twitter (X) evolving into a paid platform?
