So, it looks like the European version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 will be packing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, just like the US model. This info comes straight from Geekbench, which has been a goldmine for pre-release gadget leaks. The European model (SM-F956B) has now shown up in the database, and guess what? It’s also rocking the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Earlier, there were some hints that the more affordable Galaxy Z Fold FE might use a mix of Snapdragon and Exynos chips. But, according to a report by The Elec, the flagship Galaxy Z Fold6 is sticking with Snapdragon globally. The latest Geekbench results back this up, showing that Samsung is not cutting any corners for its premium foldable.
This European unit came with 12GB of RAM, which is likely the base configuration. But will it be the only option? The Z Fold5 only had a 12GB RAM version, and so far, there’s no sign of a 16GB model for the Z Fold6. With the Z Fold FE also expected to offer 12GB of RAM, Samsung might introduce a higher capacity for the flagship to keep it top-tier.
On the software side, the Galaxy Z Fold6 will debut with One UI 6.1 (or maybe 6.1.1) on top of Android 14. Samsung’s promising seven years of support, just like they are with the S24 series, which is pretty impressive.
One more thing: the Geekbench scores for the US and European Z Fold6 models are different. But don’t read too much into that—pre-release units often have varying scores, especially if the tests were done in different performance modes.
