Google Introduces New Android Logo and 3D Bugdroid Mascot

Google has made changes to their Android logo ahead of the Pixel device launch event on October 4, 2023. Additionally, Google has introduced a new design for the Bugdroid mascot, which is now in 3D.

The “Android” logo now features a capital “A” and has a slightly more rounded font to align with the Google logo. In the previous Android logo, all letters were in lowercase, including the “a.”

Now, the Android robot mascot, commonly known as Bugdroid, has undergone significant changes. It now has a 3D form with a dynamic appearance, symbolizing Android’s connection with humans, the community, and cultural moments.

Bugdroid can also reference interests, personalities, and specific contexts. In visuals shared by Google, Bugdroid can be seen transforming into an athlete, a punk rocker, a construction worker, a furry green monster, and a disco light. It looks quite adorable!

The full-body version of Bugdroid is also 3D-shaped, making it more versatile and customizable for various platforms in the digital world or real life. This makes Bugdroid appear as a character in an animated film.
