Google is gearing up for its “Made by Google” event scheduled for October 4, where it will unveil a trio of highly anticipated devices: the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and the Pixel Watch 2. While the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are confirmed to launch in India shortly after their global debut, Google has now officially announced that the Pixel Watch 2 will also make its way to the Indian market on October 5. Just like its smartphone counterparts, the Pixel Watch 2 will be exclusively available through the popular e-commerce platform, Flipkart.
This announcement comes as welcome news to smartwatch enthusiasts in India, as Google did not introduce the original Pixel Watch in the country, despite it being the world’s largest smartwatch market. As for whether Google plans to expand the availability of the Pixel Watch 2 to other countries in the near future, that remains uncertain.

While Google has provided a glimpse of the Pixel Watch 2’s design, along with confirming features such as an IP68 rating, heart rate monitoring, and an SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen levels, detailed specifications are yet to be disclosed.
However, various rumors have circulated regarding the second-generation Pixel Watch. It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, featuring a 1.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 384×384 pixels. The smartwatch is expected to run on Android 13-based Wear OS 4 and house a 306 mAh battery.
Additionally, reports suggest that the Google Pixel Watch 2 will incorporate ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, potentially enabling functions like car unlocking using Digital Car Key, precise device tracking, and seamless media transfer to a docked Pixel Tablet or any future UWB-enabled Nest speaker.
