Google has released the second beta of the Android 15 operating system for various devices. The update is available for phones, tablets, and foldable devices from several partners such as Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Tecno, vivo, and Xiaomi.
This second beta is part of Google’s scheduled release schedule, with the next beta scheduled for June and the final beta in July. However, Google has not yet leaked when the final version will be officially released to the public.
New Features of Android 15
One of the interesting new features of Android 15 is Private Space. This feature allows users to create a separate space from the main profile for sensitive apps. Media, files, and user accounts are separated between this space and the main space, with the option to share content through the system share sheet and photo picker when this space is unlocked.
Android 15 will also have smoother transitions and app limitations to prevent them from running for more than six hours to save battery. In addition, security will also be improved where malicious apps running in the background will be prevented from bringing other active apps or misusing user access.
To improve the multitasking experience on large screens (tablets and foldable phones), the taskbar can now be pinned for easy switching between apps. Users can also save split-screen app combinations for quick access.
A widget preview feature has also been introduced, where users can see a preview of a widget before adding it to the home screen. In addition, there is also a Predictive Back feature that can show the back button will take users in apps that support this feature.
Users can now also set vibration notifications based on the source, so users can control and differentiate incoming notifications based on their vibration intensity.
Google Health Connect has also been upgraded, with support for two new data types: skin temperature and Training Plan, allowing users to track their health more comprehensively.
