Honor is set to make its mark in the global foldable smartphone market. During the IFA 2023 event in Berlin, they announced the upcoming launch of the Honor Magic V2 in several European regions and Latin America.
The Honor Magic V2, boasting the title of the world’s thinnest foldable phone, is making its way to Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, and the UK. It is expected to make its presence felt in several Latin American countries as well.
As for the release date, Honor has not disclosed the exact date. However, according to AndroidAuthority, the launch of the Honor Magic V2 is scheduled for the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, which means it will be available between January and March next year.
As a reminder, the Honor Magic V2 was previously launched in China in July. Being touted as the thinnest foldable phone, the Magic V2 measures just 9.9mm in thickness for the leather variant. It also weighs only 231 grams, making it lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro lineup!
Other specifications include a 7.92-inch internal display and a 6.43-inch external display. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and internal storage options of up to 1TB. Despite its slim and lightweight design, the Honor Magic V2 still packs a 5,000mAh battery.
On the camera front, it features a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 20MP telephoto camera with 2.5x zoom. There is also a 16MP selfie camera on each screen.
In China, the Honor Magic V2 is priced starting from Rp19 million for the 16/256GB configuration. With its impressive features, could this device become a strong competitor for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5?”
