iPhone SE 4 Production Kicks Off in October with Big Upgrades

Apple is set to begin mass production of the iPhone SE 4 in October 2024, and it’s shaping up to be a major step forward for the SE series. This upcoming model is expected to bring substantial upgrades, making it a standout in Apple’s lineup.

The iPhone SE 4 will reportedly adopt a design similar to the iPhone 14, featuring a larger 6.1-inch OLED display. This is a notable jump from the previous SE model’s 4.7-inch LCD screen, signaling Apple’s effort to bring more premium features to its budget-friendly line.

A key highlight is the introduction of Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI-driven features debuting with iOS 18.1. The SE 4 will be the first in the SE line to support these advanced capabilities, thanks to an expected 8GB of RAM—an upgrade over the 6GB found in the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. Powered by the new A18 chipset, the SE 4 is poised to handle AI tasks efficiently, offering users a smooth and responsive experience.

Another significant change is the switch to a USB-C port, following Apple’s move to standardize charging ports across its devices. Other expected features include a 48MP camera, Face ID, and possibly Apple’s in-house 5G modem, though details on the modem are still uncertain.

These enhancements raise interesting questions about the SE 4’s positioning as a budget device, especially if it maintains a price around $500. With these upgrades, it could deliver near-flagship performance at a mid-range price, making it a strong contender in the smartphone market.

With production starting soon, the iPhone SE 4 might launch as early as January 2025, potentially aligning with the Lunar New Year, which could further build excitement for this next-gen device.
