Doria, also known as Dolia, is a prominent hero in Honor of Kings (HoK). This hero’s unique playstyle can lead to victory in battles. However, mastering Doria requires understanding specific strategies, especially for new players. Here are some essential tips and tricks to help you use Doria effectively in HoK.
Curious about how to optimize Doria’s abilities in HoK? Here’s a detailed guide to get you started.
Using Doria Effectively
Consistently following Skill 1 with Skill 2 can execute a knock-up effect. Choose heroes with high skill value for better synergy. Doria struggles against heroes with multiple dashes, and her magic damage is countered by Sima Yi. She also finds it challenging to protect teammates from Guiguzi’s dash attacks.
Starting battles with Skill 2 can maximize your damage output. Initiating with Skill 1 allows you to reposition using Skill 2, restricting your opponent’s movements.
Doria’s Skills Explained
Doria possesses several remarkable skills. To utilize her full potential, you must understand these abilities thoroughly.
Mermaid Gifts (Passive)
Doria transforms into a mermaid, reducing slow effects by 50% and restoring 70 health and 5 mana per second. Her basic attacks in mermaid form release water arrows, causing area damage and limiting enemy movement.
Skill 1: Ode
Doria’s song sends out four sonic waves. The first three waves deal magic damage of 125/150/175/200/225/250 (+16% AP) and slow enemies by 10%. The fourth wave deals 250/300/350/400/450/500 (+35% AP) magic damage and slows enemies by 50% for 1 second.
Sonic waves echo upon hitting enemies, dealing 150/180/210/240/270/300 (+16% AP) magic damage. If released in water, it generates a wave that knocks back enemies, stunning nearby foes. Non-hero units trigger smaller echoes, dealing 50% damage.
Skill 2: Wavebreaker
Doria leaps forward, transforming into a mermaid. If she lands on the ground, she creates a water area that heals nearby allies for 300/360/420/480/540/600 (+40% AP). Allies within the water area regenerate health and mana like Doria. If used in water or when jumping into water, 30% of the cooldown is restored. The water area disappears 4 seconds after Doria leaves it.
Ultimate: Celestial Melody
After chanting a brief spell, Doria resets the longest cooldown skill of a nearby ally, reducing 10/9/8 (+120% of the current cooldown skill) from the cooldown time. If the ally doesn’t use the skill during cooldown, Doria’s skill cooldown recovery speed increases by 20%.
Best Partners for Doria
In MOBA games, Doria can’t win battles alone. Instead, she needs the best partners to maximize her role. Here are Doria’s top partners in HoK:
- Heino: Can reset Heino’s Skill 1, allowing maximum ultimate use.
- Lu Bu: Refreshing Lu Bu’s ultimate can significantly enhance team fighting abilities.
- Zhao Yun: Like Dharma, Zhao Yun is a semi-tank warrior with control and healing abilities, along with dash skills. Combining Dharma and Zhao Yun can significantly increase the success rate of capturing enemies. Their combination involves Dharma initiating with Skill 1 and Zhao Yun using his ultimate for additional control, followed by strategic placement and simultaneous skill use for high physical damage and armor reduction.
Top Counters for Doria
As a MOBA hero, Doria faces several counters in the arena. These counters can challenge Doria’s effectiveness. Here are Doria’s main counters:
- Sima Yi: Counters Doria’s magic damage.
- Guiguzi: Doria struggles to protect allies from Guiguzi’s dash composition.
- Xiang Yu: Can push back Dharma, protecting the backline.
- Diao Chan: Effectively prevents Dharma while evading her abilities.
