MediaTek has officially launched its new flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400, designed to enhance mobile performance with a focus on AI and energy efficiency. Built on the 3nm TSMC N3E process, this chip is packed with advanced features, including a powerful 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU that offers a 41% performance boost and 44% better power efficiency. Additionally, its NPU 890 significantly improves AI tasks, boasting 80% faster large language model prompts and double the speed for diffusion generation tasks.
In terms of hardware, the Dimensity 9400’s CPU configuration includes a Cortex-X4 clocked at 3.63GHz, accompanied by other high-efficiency cores for improved multitasking. The chip is optimized for gaming and camera performance, supporting up to 8K video recording and HDR capture, while its AI-driven Imagiq 1090 ISP reduces energy consumption during 4K recording by 14%.
This chipset also supports LPDDR5X RAM at speeds up to 10.7Gbps and incorporates Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, positioning it to power upcoming flagship smartphones, such as the OPPO Find X8 and vivo X200, expected later this year​.
