In addition to a steady stream of original projects, many of which receive global attention, MAGES. is well-known for developing visual novels based on popular anime series.
Following the success of several game adaptations for The Quintessential Quintuplets, MAGES. has announced a new visual novel adaptation for Rent-A-Girlfriend.
Titled Rent-A-Girlfriend: The Horizon and the Girl in the Swimsuit, the game has yet to reveal many details. However, it is expected to follow the familiar format of MAGES.’ other visual novels, featuring original storylines, unique romance routes for each heroine, and multiple endings.
The key visual for the game includes Mini Yaemori, the fourth heroine introduced in the third season of the Rent-A-Girlfriend anime. This suggests the story will explore events beyond the anime, potentially offering original content that satisfies fans of all the heroines, not just focusing on Mizuhara.
Rent-A-Girlfriend: The Horizon and the Girl in the Swimsuit is currently in development and is slated for release this year on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Initially, the release will be exclusive to Japan, but there is potential for a global version in the future, similar to the visual novel series The Quintessential Quintuplets, which had Spike Chunsoft as its publisher.
