Recently, Nothing teased a cryptic image, revealing only a glimpse of its rear panel. Speculation initially leaned towards it hinting at the Nothing Phone (3). However, emerging rumors suggest a different narrative, hinting that the teaser may actually be alluding to the inaugural phone from its CMF sub-brand.
This upcoming device, purportedly named the CMF Phone (1), is rumored to introduce a unique feature dubbed “Nothing Lock.” This special screw mechanism enables users to attach exclusive accessories, such as brackets or lanyards, onto the phone’s rear panel.
The teaser shared by Nothing appears to showcase the “Nothing Lock” screw, leading many to speculate that it’s indeed a glimpse of the CMF Phone (1). However, it’s important to note that this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Nothing, leaving room for the possibility that the Nothing Phone (3) might also incorporate a similar feature.
While details about the Nothing Phone (3) remain scarce, leaks surrounding the CMF Phone (1) have been circulating for several months. It’s anticipated to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 SoC, a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, 6GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Targeted as a budget-friendly option under the CMF brand, the CMF Phone (1) is rumored to carry a starting price of USD 249. Reports suggest its official unveiling is slated for July.
