While Apple and Google have recently disclosed their autumn event dates, OnePlus has some exciting news of its own, albeit not about a new phone. The unveiling of the OnePlus Open remains uncertain for now.
Instead, OnePlus has unveiled its plan to launch the stable OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14, on September 25. This timeline is rather ambitious, considering that Google has not yet released the stable version of Android 14.
OnePlus has also committed to releasing a public beta build of OxygenOS 14 in the upcoming days for the OnePlus 11, OnePlus 11R, and OnePlus Nord 3. While it might seem that all three of these devices will receive the stable release on September 25, the wording leaves room for interpretation. There has been no clarification regarding which specific model(s) will be first to embrace the next OS iteration on that day, so we’ll assume it’s primarily the OnePlus 11.
Nevertheless, it’s evident that the OnePlus 11R and Nord 3 won’t be far behind, even if their releases aren’t simultaneous. OnePlus deserves praise for its commitment to promptly delivering the latest Android version, particularly by including the mid-range Nord 3 in the initial wave of updates. Typically, mid-range devices have to wait for a few flagship generations to receive such updates.
OnePlus has teased six areas of improvement in OxygenOS 14: CPU Vitalization, RAM Vitalization, ROM Vitalization, HyperBoost, HyperTouch, and HyperRendering. Unfortunately, OnePlus hasn’t provided specific details about these enhancements yet, but we’ll keep you informed as soon as we learn more.
