Oppo A18: A Quiet Arrival with Striking Similarity to Oppo A38

In a discreet launch, Oppo has unveiled its latest entry-level smartphone, the Oppo A18, with a primary focus on the Saudi Arabian market. What’s noteworthy about the Oppo A18 is its remarkable resemblance in both design and specifications to the recently debuted Oppo A38.

The Oppo A18 features an IPS display, measuring 6.56 inches, offering an HD+ resolution, and sporting a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. At the heart of the display, a subtle waterdrop notch discreetly accommodates the 5MP front-facing selfie camera. When viewed from the front, the Oppo A18 and A38 are virtually identical.

Turning our attention to the rear of the device, it maintains an uncanny resemblance, down to the camera module. However, a noticeable difference lies in the camera specifications, as the A18 showcases an 8MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.

This camera setup is the most significant differentiator between the A18 and its counterpart, the Oppo A38, which boasts a rear camera configuration with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.

Interestingly, the rest of the specifications remain consistent. The Oppo A18 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal eMMC 5.1 storage. Users also have the flexibility to expand storage using a microSD card.

With a robust 5,000mAh battery, the A18 ensures enduring performance. It runs on ColorOS 13.1, based on Android 13, and comes with an impressive IP54 rating. Furthermore, the smartphone integrates a side-mounted fingerprint sensor seamlessly into the power button, enhancing both security and ease of use.
