While Apple is currently gearing up for the highly anticipated iPhone 15 series launch at an upcoming mega event, there are growing speculations regarding a potential delay in the release of their new MacBook models featuring the cutting-edge M3 series processors. These insights have been shared by supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who recently indicated that there’s a likelihood of Apple postponing the debut of these MacBook models until the end of this year.

It seems that Apple will not launch new MacBook models (equipped with M3 series processors) before the end of this year.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) September 8, 2023
Last month, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg hinted at the possibility of Apple introducing the M3 chip in its ‘entry-level’ Macs during an October launch event. This suggests that the 13-inch MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and the 24-inch iMac might incorporate the M3 chip, which is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process technology. Such an advancement promises enhanced performance and efficiency when compared to the previous 5nm-based M2 chip. Gurman also suggested that Apple might stagger the product releases between October of this year and the following year.
It’s important to note that Ming-Chi Kuo’s recent statement does not explicitly address the potential launch of the iMac within this year, aside from the MacBook featuring the M3 chip. Apple has a history of delaying Mac launches, as observed last year when they postponed the launch from October to January.
