Xiaomi is seemingly in the midst of preparations for the launch of the Redmi K70 Pro, which is anticipated to succeed the Redmi K60 Pro. This yet-to-be-announced smartphone has recently emerged on the radar, appearing in the Geekbench database, and it’s equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
At this stage, Xiaomi has kept any official details regarding the Redmi K70 Series under wraps. However, a Xiaomi device carrying the model number 23117RK66C has surfaced on Geekbench, strongly indicating that it could be the Redmi K70 Pro.
This particular device runs on Android 14 and boasts a substantial 16GB of RAM. Powering it is an octa-core chipset with a unique configuration of 1+2+5, capable of reaching an impressive peak clock speed of 3.19 GHz.
All signs point to this chipset being the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a processor that Qualcomm is expected to unveil officially in the upcoming month of October. Given that the Redmi K60 from the previous year featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, it’s a logical assumption that its successor would incorporate Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset.
On an alternative note, there’s a possibility that this device could also be the Xiaomi 14, rumored to be the first smartphone to adopt the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, earlier reports referred to Xiaomi 14 with different model numbers, such as 23127PN0CC and 23116PN5BC. Therefore, the emergence of the fresh model number 23117RK66C raises the conjecture that it might be specifically designated for the Redmi K70 Pro.
Reflecting on the release schedule from the previous year, which saw the simultaneous introduction of Xiaomi 13 and the Redmi K60 Series, it’s plausible to expect the Redmi K70 Series to be unveiled in proximity to the announcement of Xiaomi 14. According to the latest rumors, Xiaomi 14 is slated to make its debut in November 2023.
