Samsung has introduced an 85-inch outdoor Terrace TV priced at $20,000

Samsung has expanded the excitement of outdoor gatherings since its original launch of the Terrace outdoor TV line in 2020. Now, it’s raising the bar in size and brilliance. Recently, the company revealed the 85-inch Terrace Full Sun edition, commanding a price of $20,000. This premium offering boasts a Neo QLED screen engineered to maintain its luminance even in the face of direct sunlight. Furthermore, it comes equipped with “Direct-Sun Protection” technology to ensure the TV’s durability. Samsung asserts that it can withstand “up to six hours in sunlight at 700 watts and 104 degrees Fahrenheit.” However, it might adjust brightness to contend with higher temperatures and intense sun exposure.

While the temperature threshold might appear considerable, this year witnessed over a dozen cities in the Southern US breaking their longstanding heat records, prompting concerns about the $20,000 TV’s endurance. Notably, the 85-inch Terrace also comes with an enhanced IP56 rating, enhancing its resilience against water and dust. (Perhaps it’s wise to reconsider hosting a movie night during scorching heatwaves or summer storms.)

For those seeking a more modest outdoor screen, Samsung presents alternative choices. The 65-inch Full Sun Terrace is currently available for $6,500, while the 75-inch variant is priced at $9,000. Additionally, budget-conscious consumers can explore the Partial Sun Terrace selection, specifically designed for shaded areas. The 55-inch model starts at $3,000.
