Samsung Electronics has unveiled a significant software update for its Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Samsung Smart TV, bringing improved audio quality to connected devices and introducing Bluetooth LE Audio technology to Samsung TVs through Auracast, an audio broadcast technology.
Introducing LE Audio
LE Audio is a Bluetooth audio standard that enhances audio quality with more complex and rich sound, while also allowing users to share high-quality audio. Samsung leverages LE Audio with features such as 360 Audio Recording, enabling users to record sound in videos with the same quality they hear.
Additionally, on some devices like the Galaxy Book3, this feature reduces latency, making it suitable for gaming and immersive multimedia content due to minimal lag.
Auracast Broadcast Feature
With this update, Samsung introduces the Auracast broadcast audio technology to Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Samsung Neo QLED 8K 2023, and MICRO LED 2023. Auracast enables users to turn their devices into shared radio stations that can broadcast to all connected devices. The new LE Audio also allows users to connect multiple sets of Buds to the TV, as opposed to just two devices previously.
Auracast opens up a wide range of possibilities, including in cinemas, classrooms, sharing playlists during workouts, or even supporting multiple languages without translation equipment. With a single media source, users can listen to the same audio across various different devices, especially earbuds.
Samsung’s software update not only enhances audio quality but also expands the ways in which users can interact with and share audio across their devices, making it a significant advancement in the audio technology landscape.
