Spotify is about to roll out a more expensive subscription plan soon, according to someone familiar with the situation who spoke to Reuters. We’ve been hearing rumors about this pricier tier for a while, but it looks like Spotify is finally ready to make it happen.
This new subscription plan will include HiFi audio streaming and offer more advanced tools for creating and managing playlists and song libraries. It’s expected to cost around $5 more on average, depending on the region, which is about a 40% increase in price for most areas.

Recently, Spotify bumped up its subscription prices in the US by $1 for the single plan to increase its profit margin. The Duo plan went up by $2, and the family package saw a $3 increase.
