Reflector Entertainment, in collaboration with publisher Bandai Namco, has unveiled new gameplay for their debut action-adventure game, Unknown 9: Awakening. The latest presentation features commentary from the game’s Creative Director, Christophe Rossignol, providing deeper insights into the gameplay mechanics and various important details.
The eight-minute gameplay video showcases the combat system, highlighting unique playstyles that incorporate special abilities. For instance, the main character can teleport to enemies’ positions and possess them.
Additionally, the video displays stunning exploration sequences, taking the protagonist through the Mauritanian desert and dense Indian forests.
The game’s story centers around a Quaester named Haroona, who has a unique connection to the parallel universe called The Fold. Although she still needs time to master her powers, she is driven by the desire to avenge her mentor’s death at the hands of another student, Vincent Lichter.
Haroona’s quest for vengeance thrusts her into a conflict between two major factions seeking to harness the power of The Fold. She faces numerous dangers to thwart Vincent’s evil plans.
