Vivo X200 Series Officially Launched with Cutting-Edge Camera and Performance Upgrades

Vivo has officially announced the X200 series, showcasing significant upgrades in performance, camera quality, and software features. Here’s an in-depth look at what the new series brings to the table:

The entire X200 lineup is powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset, which features an Octa-core CPU configuration (1x 3.63 GHz Cortex X925, 3x 3.3 GHz Cortex X4, and 4x 2.4 GHz Cortex A720). This setup delivers a notable 35% increase in single-core performance and a 28% boost in multi-core performance, along with a 15% improvement in Instructions per Cycle (IPC). The X200 series achieves an impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of 3,045,003.

For graphics, the devices are equipped with the AEM Immortalis-G925 GPU, which enhances performance by 41%, supports 40% more efficient ray tracing, and provides up to 44% power efficiency. The AI processing is managed by the NPU 890, delivering 35% energy savings over the previous generation and achieving up to 100% faster diffusion generation. The chipset also enhances Large Language Model (LLM) performance by 80%, enabling quicker AI-powered tasks.

The flagship model, the Vivo X200 Pro, comes with a powerful triple-camera setup. The main camera is a Sony LYT 818 sensor with 50MP resolution, 1/1.28” size, f/1.8 aperture, and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). This is paired with a 200MP telephoto periscope lens (85mm, f/2.76, with OIS) and a 50MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.0). For selfies, the X200 Pro features a 32MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Vivo has packed this camera system with innovative features like Landscape Mode, Telephoto Macro, and Live Photos, designed to enhance user documentation experiences. The X200 series supports video recording up to 4K at 120FPS or 8K at 30FPS.

Backing the camera is the BlueImage V3+ chip, which accelerates image processing and improves power efficiency. Vivo’s in-house R&D team has developed custom algorithms to maximize image quality and processing speed. Additionally, the camera system incorporates Zeiss technology, including ZEISS Optics Lens, ZEISS APO, and ZEISS T* coatings for superior clarity and quality.

The X200 series also offers a ZEISS Portrait Lens Kit, featuring multiple lens options like 23mm Landscape Portrait, 35mm Street Portrait, 50mm Classic and Natural Portrait, 85mm Humanistic Portrait, and 135mm CloseUp. Advanced portrait options include AI Visual and AI Smart Optimization, enabling users to capture professional-grade photos effortlessly.

Despite larger batteries, the X200 series maintains a slim design thanks to Vivo’s latest BlueVolt technology, which offers a high energy density and can operate in temperatures as low as -20°C. This battery technology provides a 16% improvement in energy density over previous generations, enabling bigger battery capacities in a compact body.

The Vivo X200 features a 5,800mAh battery, while the X200 Pro comes with a 6,000mAh battery, and the Pro Mini model offers a 5,700mAh battery.

The X200 series operates on OriginOS 5, delivering a smooth, responsive user experience, especially when handling multiple applications. This OS incorporates Vivo’s AI-powered Blue LM Agent, which processes text, images, audio, and video, providing multimodal AI capabilities. Another notable feature is Circle to Search, which simplifies searching for information on any object in the viewfinder. Vivo also introduces the Beacon feature, an emergency communication tool that can reach up to 4 km without requiring data or cellular connectivity, making it ideal for off-grid situations.

Currently launched in China, the pricing details for the Vivo X200 series are as follows:

  • Vivo X200: Starts at CNY 4,299 for the base 12GB/256GB variant, with the highest variant (16GB/1TB) priced at CNY 5,499.
