WhatsApp Switches Verification Icon Color to Blue

Meta is evidently hard at work in its ongoing efforts to enhance its popular messaging platform, WhatsApp. Recent developments include the introduction of Meta AI assistants and AI stickers, recently unveiled in the United States.

As part of these updates, WhatsApp is quietly making a change to the color of its account verification icon. Originally green, in line with the WhatsApp app logo, it is now undergoing a transformation to a calming shade of blue.

This discovery was brought to light by WABetaInfo. In WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.23.20.18, they noticed the shift in the color of the account verification icon. This shift applies not only to individual accounts but also extends to Channels and all verified business accounts.

Previously, Meta had offered a verification icon known as “Meta Verified,” obtainable through a subscription-based system. This offering came bundled with a range of features and comprehensive support, tailored to the needs of Meta app users.

Meta’s decision to adjust the color of the verification icon is more than a mere aesthetic change; it reflects a strategic move by the company to align with the branding associated with the name “Meta.” The goal is to establish a consistent visual identity across all of Meta’s platforms.

Now, the question arises: do you prefer the classic green or the new, serene blue for the verification icon?
