In a move to boost user engagement, YouTube Shorts is adding a new interactive feature: the “Add Yours” sticker. This functionality borrows inspiration from Instagram and aims to spark creative trends and challenges on the platform.
Similar to Instagram’s version, the “Add Yours” sticker allows creators to prompt viewers to participate in their Shorts. This can be done by setting a specific challenge or question within the sticker itself. Viewers can then respond by creating their own Shorts based on the prompt, effectively building a chain of user-generated content.
This new feature is currently being rolled out to YouTube Shorts and is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks. It’s one of several updates YouTube is making to Shorts, alongside auto-generated captions, text-to-speech options, and new video effects. All these additions aim to make Shorts a more engaging and interactive experience for both creators and viewers.
